Product Questions

All of our products are made in Italy, in a family-owned factory that has been manufacturing cookware for more than 100 years.

5-ply refers to the five layers of metal used to make our cookware. There are two outer layers of stainless steel (one on the top, one on the bottom) and three inner layers (the “core”) of aluminum. The aluminum core allows the pan to heat up quickly and distribute heat evenly; the outer stainless steel layers allow the pan to retain heat. This combination of materials – and how those materials are layered and constructed – allows our cookware to heat evenly and adjust to temperature changes quickly, which gives you more control over your ingredients. The use of five layers also increases the pans durability, which is why our pans will last a lifetime.

Our Stainless Steel Skillets are dishwasher safe, however our Carbon Steel Skillets cannot go in the dishwasher.

Yes, our stainless steel cookware is oven safe up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit. Our non-stick cookware is oven safe up to 480 degrees Fahrenheit. The carbon steel skillets are oven safe up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit.

Sardel cookware can be used on all induction, gas, and electric stovetops.

We use 18/10 stainless steel on the interior of our pans.

On our stainless steel cookware, we designed our handles with a hollow interior to make sure that our handles don’t get hot during normal cooking tasks. However, if you place our cookware in the oven, the handles will get hot, so use proper protection when removing cookware from the oven. The carbon steel skillet handles will get hot when cooking on the stove top for an extended amount of time.

Manufacturing high-quality stainless steel cookware is a time-consuming and expensive process. When retail markups are added to those costs, high-quality cookware becomes overpriced. At Sardel, we are able to eliminate these excessive and unnecessary retail markups by selling our products online, directly to our customers. This means we are able to offer high-end, well-made cookware at a more affordable price than other premium brands, without sacrificing quality, leaving you with more money in your pocket and high-quality cookware in your kitchen.

To clean your carbon steel skillet, just rinse in warm water and use a towel or non-scratch pad to remove any left-over food bits. For harder to clean spots, add a small amount of water to your pan and bring it up to a boil. Then, use a flat-bottomed spatula to scrape off any stuck on food. Just be sure to dry your pan thoroughly after cleaning. Do not put them in the dishwasher. Learn More
